Well either it is a lucky year or someone is spreading something!

There is a poster going around and a rumor going around that to qualify for Mr Continental 2009 one DOES NOT have to run and win a prelim! Someone clarify this : is this right or wrong!
Mz Peachez
I WOULD CONTACT THE CONTINENTAL OFFICE
Kurtis Ryan
OK Thanks
Indiana USofA
As of Today...there is a major bulletin posted on Continentals myspace page answering that question....

It is true, no prelim required for the Mr Continental 2009 contest!

What is going to happen to all of those promoters??? Would love to hear thoughts!
ALLSTARR
THis maybe b/c MR Gay USofa you dont have to do a prelim this year either.
eddiecruz
I knew this was coming jim said a month ago that many of the prelims were cutting their men division due to no interest so this is a way of men wanting to compete to just show up if it was not done this way there wouild be only 7 to 10 men comining to compete in september because those are the only number of prelims for men held this year.
Constantine
I don't think that this will effect promoters in a negative fashion. In fact, if people like the system, they will come back next year and probably run in a prelim. As a college student, I would not go to a national pageant without sponsorship... What is better sponsorship that winning a prelim contest. Most, if not all prelims, pay entry fee, hotel, some cash... If you have a really generous promoter, they may even help you out a little more than is stated in the contract. Just my thoughts...
poet32403
I think that prelims are needed to fund a national pageant. Promoters need to be out there doing their job..."PROMOTING". This is not happening with the male pageants and this is why there seems to be a lack of interest.
DREAM_GIRLPAGEANTR
Good luck to all of the guys competing within the next few weeks!

Great point .. Constantine ... !

Honestly ..... many preliminary pageants ( for all systems) are seeing lower numbers , than in the past .. ! There are many variables ...as to why this may be .

Granted , it seems to be less encouraging for PROMOTERS who hold a preliminary and .... months prior to the contest ....it's announced that the contest is open entry ..... !

However , ....If you are choose to be a PROMOTER ...... weigh your options ... carefully . In ...CONTINENTAL pageantry's defense... THE SHOW must GO ON ... "By ANY MEANS ...necessary .. !

For Mr you probably can get some general tickets.

It's the Ms that's going to be a lot more crowded. (especially for final night)

***Good to see you back on the boards Kanili. We are ready to see you compete for Continental.
BetterThanMost
No offense intended, but this years mens contest is shaping up to be pretty darned boring, if you ask me. That said, I hope Chris wins, he is one of my favorites.
xena phobia
Does anyone have any pics of the contestants?
If so, will you please post them?

Since the pageant is open, we don't know who else will be throwing there hat in the ring.

3 former national title holders sounds like a battle to me.

**Some of the previous years are on the Continental website but not last years pageant.
GavynDSanchez

I would Like to wish all the male contestants the best of luck at continental this year

Marsean DEVINE
Tyler Alyxander
Good luck to everyone who decides to enter. This title obviously needs a shot in the arm to get things going!

What happened that there seems to be a lack of interest in becoming a part of a very prestigious family?

Regards!
Mystique
I believe it's just this year. Not to take anything from Rasean, the formers or the system.

They had 24 contestants that competed last year and around 30 qualified.

Maybe they will have 20-30 contestants next year.
MsBritneyTaylor
I would like to wish the best of luck to Frecks from Orlando. I can't wait to see another Mr pageant. I always enjoy seeing with guys truly get the game. There are guys that year after year I have enjoyed watching and I am sure this year will be no different. See you all in Chicago.

EXACTLY ......last year there was SOOO much hype surrounding the MEN'S division.....not sure what happened this year, BUT HOPING MR CONTINENTAL future success
Mystique
You are right Peachez.

A lot of the guys did not come back this year unless they are going without a prelim.

Where is

Kyle Ean
Damien Kelly (just did USA, but no Continental?)
Khalil Litter (getting married this weekend but why this weekend?)
Brandon Thomas
Gavyn Sanchez (doing MBU but he did so well last year)
Nathan Davis
Raphael Matthews
Cedric
Robbie Sutton
Atienne Taylor
Keante Bonet
RK Larue

I don't mean where are they like they are lost but none of the above guys are competing this year?????

Of course Savion just won EOY so of course he would not be competing.
What about everyone else?

Brandon Thomas -sitting out this year but coming back in 2009
Nathan Davis - also sitting out this year but coming back in 2009
Cedric - was focused on USA so chilling out for a sec

Although a lot of you don't see if as such, but Christopher Iman is a current national title holder. He is the current Mr National Icon. I wonder if it will work for him as it did for Necole. She was Miss National Icon when she won Continental. Good luck Christopher!!!!!

Good Luck Kyle, make us proud

I want to wish David "Freklz" Hunter the best of luck.

For those of you that do not know him,.....he has been a dancer for soooooo many of the girls. ( Tasha Long, Cezanne, Armani, Roxxxy Andrews.....way too many to post here)

He is an unbelievable dancer and could be the one time wonder this year....
NeaundreBD
I know Frecklez@@@... such a sweetheart and a cutie! So glad to hear he's coming from the back up dancer line to the spotlight where his talents belong! 3 days till the BIG show!

Hello,
Good Luck to all the men competing for Mr. Continental 2009! Many of you {such as Kyle, Kristian, and Mr. Steele} have inspired me over the years. I thank each of you for that, you guys are the reason I'm hopefully will return to a national competition this year. To all the nay sayers remember its not the number of contestants, but the quality of talent and this year will be great! To the man who becomes Mr. Continental 2009, be visible to new areas like Maryland. I have never seen a Mr. Continental in Baltimore, even if it was just to watch a competition. We have a competition to Mr. Gay Classique on November 21st, in Baltimore and I would love to see whoever wins.
Dartanyan
Muy Kuki Productions
RK Larue qualified for Mr. Gay USofA and is probably preparing for that.

Very interesting. Let's hope that whomever wins Mr Continental will take you up on the invite to Maryland - seems to be a great contestant pool there!
