The truth of the matter, is that I don't know anyone who was a little confused when Beyonce didn't win. His message was accurate. Beyonce clearly had the best video last year. Hell she won Video of the year, but lost Female Video of the year. That doesn't' computer. However, he was WRONG for what he did to that poor girl. I cried for her.

I have to agree with Khori. I was kind of surprised that Beyonce didn't win that category. However, Kanye was beyond RUDE and Disrespectful to Taylor Swift. Taylor had to get 100 percent of the country vote, plus some of the pop vote as well.

It goes without saying that Kanye was an embarrassment to himself and his fans. Taylor did not vote for herself - and should have never been subjected to having her moment belittled. Beyonce' really stepped up and did what any decent person should have done. Even still, Taylor's moment was lost and is forever marred by the antics of a spoiled idiot. I used to enjoy Kanye, but this has removed him from my cd rotation and my support. I'm still in disbelief that I actually saw him take the mic from Taylor and say what he did - I called a couple of people and asked if it was an MTV joke award or something. I thought they set it up, even when the commercial came on, I was waiting for someone to say it was a joke.

The reason Taylor won best female video and Beyonce won best overall video was based of who the choices were for in each category. In best female vedio, Taylor was the only female artist in her genere for the award, Beyonce had to split the vote for her genere with Lady GaGa, Pink, and Kelly Clarkson.

When it came to best overall video...the vote was more split among the generas. which helped the vote turn out in a more logical manner.

Maybe this coudl lead to Beyonce and Taylor doing a duet... I think that would be neat.

Kanye is a pig and I too thought it was a sick MTV joke. However as Miss Khori has pointed out MTV makes no logical sense. If you have the video of the year and you can't win the best video for your sex then the math is flawed.
Kanye is WRONG but he like me, may have thought that since Beyonce did not win best female video she had no chance in hell of getting video of the year so he ceased the moment to get his point across.
He was WRONG but I can see how he may have thought this was a prelude of other horrors to come later on in the show.
Thank you Beyonce for giving Taylor her moment back but MTV needs to look into this voting system becasue if for example I don't have the best male talent at Continental 2009 then no way on earth can I have the best talent overall for the year when all divisions are considered.

Just listened to a clip of Jay Z on a BBC radio show defending Kayne's actions. Basically said he was rude, but Kayne is passionate, and at the end of the day he was just expressing his passion.

I'm sorry, those were not the actions of a passionate person. Those were the actions of an idiot, with an oversized ego, who has an unrealistic sense of entitlement!

I know this is almost week old news, but having just gotten the chance to view the entire show, had to put my two cents out there.

It wasn't for letting her coming her come up on stage. It was the fact that it was an act of public disloyalty. Those of us who grew up on the "right side" of the tracks, like me, you, and clearly Beyonce wouldn't have thought twice about how Kanye would feel or being loyal. It's hard to a explain, but I have an employee that is a former gang memeber and we actually talked about the incident. And the first thing he said was. WTF did Beyonce do that for? To Jay, Kayne is family, he's blood. No matter what he does, they should have his back.

I can't say I agree, but he brought up a good argument, that I've heard others echo.

Hmmmmmm, I actually understand what you're saying, Khori. It's sad that in this day and age "gangs" and I use that in the broad sense of the word, still have the power and influence over people that they have had. Although I was brought up on the right side of the tracks, I certainly didn't shy away from crossing over many times in my life. With that said, I don't know if they, as somewhat astute people, should still be living by the code of the street. That is what propagates the maladaptive mindset that is so prevalent in society. People emulate what they admire and I believe it's time for grown adults to start acting responsibly.
