There is more great news to report today about Miss Gay USofA Newcomer.

I am very pleased to announce that Darryl Neumann will be promoting Miss Gay Texas USofA Newcomer. Darryl's current role with USofA Pageantry is Executive Assistant to the Titleholders. I am CONFIDENT that Darryl will do an OUSTANDING job with Miss Gay Texas USofA Newcomer. Darryl is looking to hold Texas in June, 2010 and this will have residency requirements.

In the last week I have received numerous emails from interested promoters and potential contestants in Texas so I know this will be a huge success. All interested promoters and contestants, please contact Darryl Neumann at DNeumann@usofa.org

Miss Texas USofA Newcomer is upon us and it's looking like it's going to be a competition. 31 contestants have qualified. Let's see how many show up. Registration is tomorrow at the Saint in San Antonio.

About midway through interview here in San Antonio.....going to be a fabulous two nights of pageantry for sure! I am glad I made the trip down!

And only 12 showed up? Whats up with that ? Thats a significant amount of girls to not show if they qualified through a prelim .

I would say that 12 contestants (even if 31 qualified) is a great accomplishment. The season was maybe 6 months long and Darryl attended every prelim. Lets also look at how many prelims we had in the state of TX. As for the # of girls who showed up. Its Newcomer. Some of these girls simply are not seasoned and need someone to remind them that this is still a business and a way for you to learn and get into the business. There are rules and regulations. I just think that many of the newcomers dont really think about the cost and time thats truly involved after the prelim. Its not an easy job. Good luck to all the girls. Hopefully the storm wont blow you away!
