Miss Gay USofA Newcomer
As the National Promoter for Miss Gay USofA Newcomer Pageant, I am excited about all the energy and enthusiasm the announcement of this new system has brought to the forefront. With that said, I am excited to announce that I am planning to hold final night of Miss Gay USofA Newcomer in a DOWNTOWN INDIANAPOLIS THEATRE. This will provide the contestants and spectators with the exact atmosphere needed to make this night a memorable experience. Please stay tuned for breaking details on our final night venue for Miss Gay USofA Newcomer.

Jason...GREAT NEWS! That will be alluring to many contestants, I'm sure.

The best of luck!

la la la I live for Jason. When you said downtown theatre I got all warm inside, as I thought you meant Club INDY.... lol.... Not really.... smile.gif

Jason is doing a WONDERFUL job at the promotion and the support for the artform. I think he was a PERFECT fit to promote the Newcomer system.

Well, we thought that we had the final night facility the IRT but they got a grant and will start tearing out the sound and light systems to replace with new equipment. So we are looking at new venues for final night next Thursday, November 17. We will know what is going to happen after those meetings. We will then announce the host hotel and final night theatre. We hope to hold Newcomer (August) and At-large (October) using the same host bar, hotel and final night facility. We would love to build both of these systems in Indianapolis, Indiana the heart of America.

rolleyes.gif Well, I hate to be the messenger of bad news, BUT someone has to do it... From what I am hearing through sources connected within OUR local community that not only is Talbott Street hurting for business, but they have had a couple of "new investors" coming in that they are trying to get help from... or is that sell it to? Time will tell, but things do not look good under the current owner and management staff.. MANY have turned their back on this establishment because THEY have turned their back on our community... Riding the fence on Diversity is one thing, but using the gay community as your work horse and turing your back on them when it is convenient is another... cool.gif

Great news for Indianapolis and USofA!

Jazmyn care to be more specific? It seems that all you are doing is sharing rumour and innuendo. Was there something you were trying to accomplish with this post? It does not seem to be saying anything at all

yep...pot+spoon=stir

it's one thing to hold a personal vendetta against a club, but that post, like some before, could hurt the reputation of USofA Pageants as well. some folks just don't know how to look at the bigger picture or take the high road.

build+bridge=get over it!

Much as I LOVE Jasmynn, having met her personally, I do NOT think her spreading gossip WITHOUT verifiable proof is such a good idea. Jason, JB and OTHERS are trying to BUILD UP USofA pageantry. And since this is happening IN HER OWN BACK YARD, I figured Jazmynn WOULD be thrilled, especially since she is a former Miss Gay Indiana USofA. Last time I was at Talbott Street, they WERE PACKED! I'm taking a wait & see attitude...until I hear concrete PROOF from a reliable source, I'm withholding judgement regarding the venue. I say Good luck to USofA Newcomer!!

I heard rumors about Indiana's self-styled "Queen of Gossip", but I WITHHELD JUDGEMENT until I personally met her...and TRUST ME there were some VERY NASTY rumors flying about her, especially on Youtube ("The Smoking Crown" video series anyone?)...In my eyes, meeting her IN PERSON DISPELLED THOSE RUMORS IN MY EYES.......maybe she should PAUSE and think before stirring up a mess that hurts a pageant family she is STILL PART OF as a former titleholder........

I have to say well said Bianca!! it's hard to be let go from a club and not be bitter!! But I am trying to bring two national pageants to the Mid-west. I feel very strongly that Indianapolis will be a great home for Miss Gay USofA Newcomer and Miss Gay USofA At-large.

nea.gif aawal2001 you must be looking in the mirror or did your buddy put you up to posting? Just how many screen names do you have on here when your not logging in under someone else's name... I would worry about your own reputation...RIGHT INDYA/AARON?

Thank you Bianca for your kind words. You brought up one very important point... WHY would I come on here and say it without verifiable truth... thumbsup.gif You are right, I am THRILLED about USofA being in Indiana, but I am not fooled by the smoke and mirrors being sent out by some here locally. I am not sure many bar owners that announce they are closing or selling. In fact it would not be wise because their employees would start drinking and giving away more of their profit then they already do huh.gif ... Which can't be much because they are open 3 days a week and the only time they are busy is on Saturday after 1am.

I could not agree with you more Jerry, Indianapolis is a Great Home for a National Contest!!! DO I believe that Talbott is a good venue to host a contest? YES, they have the facility...and set up correctly there is enough room, but lighting and electric outlets are at the least questionable... wink.gif
